There are many places you can conduct business, but come on is it really necessary to do it while your doing your "business". I was in the bathroom at work the other day and the phone rings in the stall next to me. The person answers the phone and carries on a conversation, so here I have this delima. Do I finish what I'm doing...do I be polite and wait until their off the phone. Since I make it a point to leave my cell phone at my desk I have never run in to this prediciment before.
My husband has told me of a person in the same building as him. This "professional" is successful and respected in his industry but my husband has routinely witnessed him make and recieve calls to his clients in the Mens "office". How would you feel if you were on the other end of that conversation and heard a tinkling or a flush? Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but I think there are some places cell phones just don't belong!

Home and Away
Most of the time I work at home, but two days a week most weeks I fly up to my office in No California. For the past six months I've been fortunate enough to bring my little travel buddy with me. But circumstances have changed and I can't brings her with me anymore. So here I sit in my hotel room missing my little buddy horribly, I've left her before, but for some reason this seems different. Like the end of an era, the realization that my teeny tiny baby isn't so little anymore. I'm fortunate to have found someone close to our home who can watch her for me. I hope when she is older she will understand the choices we made to help secure a better future for her and her siblings.

Win of the day!
I confess, I tricked my kids the other day! I gave them each the option of helping me clean or going to bed, the 12 yr old, 10 yr old and 1 year old went to bed...the 6 yr old stayed up and helped me clean. I can't think of the last time I got my older 2 to go to bed so early! It was glorious! I will have to tuck this little trick away and use it again sometime.

The Business of Chaos
At first glance I'm sure this blog seems like it should be related to business, but it's not. It's a journal (more or less) of my thoughts. I guess I should explain a little bit about who I am and why I'm doing this. I have a life of Chaos, my world is ruled by my ability to fit everything in and get it all organized. I have 4 kids ranging in ages from 12-1, I work full time, my husband works full time and is currently getting his MBA at UCLA Anderson. I WAH 3 days a week and the other 2 day I go in the office. My office is in the SF East Bay area, but i live on the Westside of LA. I fly up Sundays and and Fly back Tuesday. The other times my husband stays late studying after work (or going to class). The only day I see him...is Sunday.
Some days I feel very organized and able to get everything done...but most days are filled with some unexpected event after another. I thought I would share my triumphs and my failures, what works and what doesnt, maybe even some tips on how I manage working with 4 kids and a husband who is super busy. I'll just call this a way to keep my sanity in check!
